WhatsApp commerce lets customers browse your product catalogue, add items to a cart, and place orders without leaving the chat. Setting it up end-to-end takes 10 steps, plus one extra step for Indian sellers. Follow them in order — each step depends on the one before it.
Turn on the catalogue icon for your WhatsApp API number so customers can see and tap into your product catalogue from the chat.
Turn on the cart so customers can add multiple items and check out, instead of only viewing one product at a time.
Create a product catalog inside Meta Commerce Manager. This catalog is what WhatsApp reads from when displaying products to customers.
Connect the Meta catalog you just created to your specific WhatsApp API number so it knows which catalog to show.
Link the same catalog inside WA.Expert's Ecommerce section so you can manage products, sync data, and process orders from the dashboard.
Turn on the Ecommerce APIs that let WA.Expert read and write product and order data on your behalf.
Map your product and order fields (price, name, image, SKU, etc.) so data flows correctly between your catalog and WA.Expert.
Organise your catalog into categories so customers can browse by type rather than scrolling one long list.
Add your first product manually, or in bulk via Google Sheet, to start populating your catalog.
Push your added products to the Meta catalog so they become visible and purchasable inside WhatsApp.
If you are selling from India, update your business compliance information before going live — this is required by Meta for Indian sellers using WhatsApp commerce.
