WhatsApp update notifications and point redemption

Get automatic WhatsApp notifications whenever a new customer is created, a transaction happens, or a custom field on a customer profile is updated. This is set up as a webhook-driven automation.

Set up update notifications

1
In the Automation Builder, create a new workflow and add a Custom Webhook block. Generate and copy the webhook URL.
2
Go to Rewards → Store, paste the webhook URL in the Webhook section, and save the store. This lets the store send event data to your automation.
3
Add a Basic Router with filters to differentiate: Customer Created, Transaction Created/Updated, and Custom Field Updated.
4
In each branch, add CRM → Send Template Message, select your WhatsApp channel, and map variables like Name, Number, and Balance. Save the workflow.
Alert the customer instead of just the admin

By default this sends to a fixed admin number. To alert the customer directly, replace the fixed WhatsApp number in the CRM block with the WANUMBER variable, which dynamically maps to the customer's own number.

Test each scenario

Create a new customer profile to test the customer-created trigger, create a transaction to test the transaction trigger, and edit a custom field to test the field-update trigger.

How customers redeem points

Earning points is half the loyalty loop. Redemption is the half that brings customers back. Typically a customer checks their balance or browses rewards in the loyalty store, and when they redeem, their point balance is reduced automatically and the reward is issued — for example a discount code or a free item added to their next order.

Set up rewards

1
Open your loyalty store and add rewards with a point cost each.
2
Decide what each reward gives: a code, a discount, or a product.
3
Let customers redeem through a bot flow or the store, balances update on their own.
4
Track redemptions alongside points awarded to see your programme's health.
Make the next step obvious

After someone earns points, tell them what they can redeem and how close they are to the next reward. A nudge at the right moment drives the repeat purchase.
