Enable WhatsApp voice calls

WhatsApp supports voice calls, and you can enable them so customers reach your Voice AI agent or your team by calling on WhatsApp. This is done through SIP telephony configuration.

Step 1: Configure the greeting

1
Open the Voice Agent Builder and scroll to the Greeting Mode section.
2
Choose Static Greeting (a fixed message) or AI Generated Greeting (dynamically generated).
3
Configure the greeting message.
4
Enable or disable greeting interruption — whether a caller can talk over the greeting to skip ahead.

Step 2: Set up SIP telephony

1
Navigate to the SIP Telephony section and click Setup SIP in the top-right corner.
2
Select your WhatsApp channel from the dropdown, then select the Voice AI agent to connect it to.
3
Click Setup SIP to complete the configuration.

Once complete, your business phone number becomes an AI-powered call assistant that handles customer conversations automatically. The call sits alongside your chats in the same platform.

Check availability

WhatsApp voice calling for business is rolling out and may depend on your number and region. Confirm it is available on your account before promoting a call option.
