For WSP students

Show your program on LinkedIn

Three things to do, about ten minutes in total. Recruiters and placement officers check LinkedIn first, so this is where your WSP work counts.

Why bother? A LinkedIn entry with a real company, a certificate with an ID, and a post in your own words show three things: you finished something, you can explain it, and a working company backs it up.
Step 1 · Experience

Add WA.Expert under Experience

Do this when you start the program. You can mark it "currently" doing it and add the end date later.

  1. Open your profile. On a computer, click Me, then View profile. In the app, tap your photo.
  2. Add a position. Click Add profile section (or the + beside Experience), then choose to add a position.
  3. Title: use the title below for your program.
  4. Employment type: choose Internship.
  5. Company: type WA.Expert and pick the WA.Expert company page from the list, so our logo appears next to your entry.
  6. Dates: pick your program start month. Tick that you currently work here until you finish, then add the end month.
  7. Location type: Remote. Then paste the description below and save.

Description

An example of the details to enter, not a picture of LinkedIn's screen. LinkedIn changes its layout from time to time, but these fields stay the same.

If WA.Expert does not appear in the company list, type it in full and choose the page with the green WA logo. You can also follow our LinkedIn page first, which makes it show up faster.

Step 2 · Certificate

Add your certificate in one tap

When you qualify, open your progress page, create your certificate and press Add to LinkedIn. LinkedIn opens with the certificate name, WA.Expert as the issuer, the date and your certificate ID already filled in. Check the details and save.

Prefer to add it by hand?

  1. On your profile, click Add profile section, then Licences & certifications.
  2. Name: the certificate name shown on your certificate.
  3. Issuing organisation: WA.Expert.
  4. Issue date: the date on your certificate. It does not expire.
  5. Credential ID: your certificate ID, for example WSP-M-1A2B3C4.
  6. Credential URL: https://wa.expert/wsp/ and save. You can also attach the certificate image as media.
Step 3 · Post

Tell your network what you learned

A short post in your own words does more than the certificate alone. Here is a starting point. Change it to sound like you, attach your certificate image, and tag @WA.Expert so we can cheer you on.
