Setting up a voice agent is similar to a chat agent: you create it, choose how it sounds, and give it the knowledge and instructions to help callers.

Set it up

Create a new voice agent.

Choose the model that powers its understanding and replies.

Choose the voice it speaks in.

Write clear, specific instructions defining the agent's role — for example, "You are a friendly voice assistant who helps users with support queries." Use simple, direct sentences. Click Optimize Instructions to have the platform automatically rewrite your prompt into a more AI-friendly format.

Set the Greeting — the exact welcome message spoken when a call starts.

Set the Silence Timeout: the number of seconds of no conversation before the call disconnects automatically.

Set the Off-Topic Question Limit: how many unrelated questions the agent will answer before ending the call.

Test the call experience before going live.
