The catalogue shows your products in the chat; the cart lets customers place orders. By default the cart is off, so products display but orders cannot be placed. Both are controlled in Commerce Settings.
Catalogue on, cart off means a browse-only storefront. Turn the cart on when you are ready to take orders in chat.
