Create an Order Details payment template

The Order Details template is a special WhatsApp template type that includes a payment button. It is required when you want to send a payment request to a customer as a template message — for example, in a bulk campaign or an automated bot flow. Unlike regular templates, Order Details templates include structured product information and a direct payment link.

Before you start

You need a connected payment gateway (Razorpay or PhonePe) set up in the Payments Ecosystem section before creating an Order Details template.

Create the template

Go to Messaging Channels → Templates and click Create New Template.

Enter a template name and select a category (marketing or utility depending on your use case).

For the header, select Order Details as the header type (not image or text).

Enter the body text of the template — this is mandatory. Include any personalisation variables such as {{1}} for customer name.

(Optional) Define default ERS payment message configurations such as currency and expiry settings.

Click Save and Apply with Facebook to submit the template for Meta review.

After approval, go to Sync Templates to check the approval status and make the template available in campaigns and bot flows.
