Maximum phone numbers limit reached

Every WhatsApp Business Account has a cap on how many phone numbers it can hold. If you have hit that limit and need to add another number, you have to request an increase directly from Meta — there is no self-serve toggle for this.

Request a limit increase

2
Click the Ask a Question tab.
3
Select Dev Account and WABA as the topic.
4
Choose Increase Phone Number Limit as the request type.
5
Select your WhatsApp Business Account, then select the phone number and allow Meta to share permission with third parties.
6
Provide a title and a detailed reason for the request — for example, needing a dedicated number for each team member.
7
Click Confirm to submit.
What limit to expect

The most easily approved limit is 20 phone numbers. Requests above this may take longer or face additional scrutiny. Meta typically responds to the support ticket within a few working days.

Cannot raise a ticket with Meta directly?

If you get an error saying you cannot raise a support ticket with Meta, raise a ticket in the WA.Expert dashboard instead and our team will follow up with Meta on your behalf.
