What businesses do with it on WhatsApp

  • Send a WhatsApp when a status column changes, for example Paid or Dispatched
  • Let a chatbot look up an order or booking in a sheet and reply
  • Save chatbot answers into a sheet row
  • Build buttons and lists from sheet data
  • Daily reminders from a list of names and dates

How to connect Google Sheets with WA.Expert

  1. Open the Google Sheet you want to watch.
  2. In WA.Expert, create an automation with a Custom Webhook trigger and copy the URL.
  3. In the sheet, open Extensions, then Apps Script, and paste the trigger script linked in our video. Set the column number to watch and the webhook URL.
  4. Add an onEdit trigger in Apps Script and authorise it.
  5. Click Capture Incoming Webhook in WA.Expert, change the column once to test, then add a Send Template Message step and enable.

Can a bot read my sheet?

Yes. Google Sheet blocks in the Bot Builder can search a sheet and reply with the matching row.

Is it real time?

Yes. The script fires when the cell is edited, and the message goes out within seconds.
